A Halloween to remember!

Don’t let the size of your apartment scare you. It’s the size of your heart that counts.  🙂  And for proof, look no further than my dear friend Muthu’s Halloween party that she threw for us lucky people (25 at least!), last October in her cosy little flat.

A white bedsheet + black cut-outs + cotton wool = One scary ghost

Vampires and witches 'hang' with ghosts and other creatures of the night

A traditional Halloween pumpkin greeted us at the entrance

Busy making the trick or treat bags

Captain Hook, Peter Pan and the (resident) Devil strike a pose

Muthu* put the party together in 1.5 days! She hung her ghost over a huge indoor plant, her girls cut out ghosts, bats and cats in KG cardboard from a stencil she downloaded off the net, which were hung around the house with red ribbon. Strings of fairy lights added to the spooky atmosphere. The kids came dressed in their favourite costumes and Muthu bought fake teeth, glowing red spectacles and some party hats from Party Mania, a party supply store in Bangalore.

Bobbing for apples

'Wrapping the Mummy' game

Which team will be quicker?

Games like apple bobbing, who can wrap the mummy quicker, passing the pumpkin (with your chin!) were organised in the corridor. The kids decorated paper bags to collect their loot and went trick or treating to the homes of some friendly neighbours.

The most awesome spread of halloweeny food!

The cauliflower and ketchup brain

Blood and guts, pus pearls, putrid pie, gory eyeballs and bleeding fingers were the delicious snacks on offer

The sweetest 'Boo' cake ever - made for one of the little guests as it was his birthday

The grand finale was the food (click here for recipes) – a fitting conclusion to all the fun and excitement at this very special party.
